Ekstrakti listova gaveza blagotvorno djeluju na bolne zglobove, umanjuju bol i posljedice povreda. Koriste ga čak i ljudi, koji provode mnogo vremena za računarom i imaju bolove u leđima. Masti i tinkture gaveza pomažu i kod oporavka uganulih gležnjeva, smanjuju otoke i bol, pa su dobri i kod bolnih mišića i sportskih povreda.
Listovi gaveza sadrže alantonin, koji pomaže u bržoj regeneraciji kože, jer podržava rast novih ćelija. Zato su masti lista gaveza dobre kod problema s modricama, posjekotinama i ranama.Gavez se pokazao i kao najdjelotvorniji kod liječenja čukljeva, odnosno čvoruga u korijenu palca (zglob palca postaje isturen).Uz to koriste ga i kod liječenja psorijaze, ekcema, dermatitisa, lišajeva, akni.Gavez nemojte samostalno brati i koristiti i morate paziti na doziranje. Najbolje je kupovati provjerene proizvode od gaveza.Proizvodi na tržištu mogu sadržavati od 5 do 20 odsto gaveza. Savjetuje se da se tinkture i masti ne koristite duže od 10 dana uzastopno ili 4 do 6 sedmica godišnje. Takođe, dobro je znati da se svi preparati od gaveza ne smiju držati u gvozdenim ili limenim posudama.
